I would definitely grease up before heading back to the maritimes. The bearings are prepacked when new, and the grease needs time to get around all the bearings. Lightly squeeze in the grease. Don't over apply. When it feels like its getting hard to squeeze it in, stop. You don't want to blow the seal.

I just spray with WD40. Squeek gone.

You can pick up an suv cover at princess auto for about $80. Works great and has an elastic bottom. 👍
