Literally 99.99% builds have roof fans, some fantastic, a lot of them have MaxxAir. Steve unfortunatelly picked the 3 posts about leaks, probably poor instalation, but I never seen anyone complain about them.

Fantastic fans are just fine, however I have decided not to cut a hole in my roof as I have no idea where beams are. (it is better to plan for this since beginning). However I am planning on installing a simple side vent https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Vents-and-Fans/Redline/HMAV2-AVT2.html I will put a fan from the inside with custom speed controller, for the size of the trailer I believe this should suffice :D

@jimkburgess Yeah, i have unfortunately noticed that there are screws just sticking out of bottom. I dont have alu sheet on the bottom so I just have wooden bottom and some of the wood is peeling around the screws. Good thinking of grinding them. I will probably take some rubber coating and just cover the whole bottom once again to preserve the wooden floor as long as possible.

@jimkburgess i see. Thanks. Btw how did you mount the tire all the way in the back? I have it on the center beam right now but that ends in the middle of the trailer. Btw if u can/want share pics, i am interested what upgrades have you done.

@Wayne Sherk interesting idea, but i am afraid my car won't handle that much tongue weight. The trailer itself is about 150-160 lb in my case. Extending it further just drops the rates of my car even more 😆

We just did a New Years camping in Algonquin. We have a shore power hookup - battery wouldn't last long even though we are running a 100Ah lithium. We used 800W heater to heat it up in the evening and then aprox 140W heater at night to keep the temperature. It was an amazingly pleasant sleep with 19 degrees inside :). We left the window cracked open, I have a insulation foil that I put in between the window and me and I cant even feel it being open. Hi, what bike rack are you using with the trailer ? Is it mounted to the trailer tongue or the car?

Definitely recommend the detachable solar panel. I can charge while driving, and then you usually want to park the trailer in the shade, so having it pernamently mounted is a waste. I have about 20-30 ft extension cords for solar (MC4) and I just detach the panel and throw it on a sun

Or you can go completelly nuts as I did :D and just built everything in. I have pernamently mounted a 5Amp charger/maintainer that powers on when the trailer is connected to shore power (I have inlet on the side of the box). Also I have a solar charger in parallel and I have mounted a detachable 100W solar panel on top of the box. Generally speaking the solar power is enough to keeped me topped out. I have a 1000W inverter but never drained more than 300W out of it :D

From experience, make sure you get a RV Travel Trailer rated bike rack to mount at the back of your teardrop. The trailer is light and the suspension is not as effective as a car. The trailer can bounce a little even on a rough road. This bounce + long-wheelbase (from car to trailer wheels) makes for a very bouncy environment at the back of the trailer. A regular car bike rack may not survive this and break.

Dont overthink it, people here think that you need monsters for towing. People think 4 cylinder car is weak or whatnat, look into europe, u will barely find anything with more than 4 cylinders. I have a 2015 Sonata 2.5L and the towing capacity is 2600lbs, if a jeep cant pull that much i would really question the car. Best you can do is call a dealer mechanic. My manual says "Not recommended for towing" (doesn't say its impossible), but when I opened the manual for the exact same car in Australia, the towing capacity was state as 2600lbs. So I gave them a call and asked if there is any technical difference between the two cars on the two continents and they confirmed that I should be good to tow with mine as well.

Hey Peter, your trip sounds awesome. We are thinking about traveling west once we receive ours, do you mind sharing some great places u recommend visiting and great places for night (campgrounds or boondocking)
