In Travel with a teardrop

Thanks Pete, very helpful. I might consider electric brakes, seeing as I'm not very confident using sport mode (I guess that's the same as X mode) and paddle shifters (to be honest, I don't even know what those are!). I travel alone with my husky and wouldn't want to be stuck in the wilderness with a big car problem.

I noticed you have a Forester XT. I have an 2018 XT with a 1500 lb towing capacity. I am thinking of getting a 5X8 Diamond in the Rough but I've never towed anything, ever, and I'm worried about how it will handle (without trailer brakes) and how hard it will be on my car. Any issues, especially in those mountains? I am also wondering if you can see behind it without extension mirrors.
