I will go with 10 amps. A good charger will self adjust the current based on battery charge level.

Hi David, I have a Diamond in the Rough with a large box and I will recommend you place the bikes in the back. Here is why. The trailer is very well balanced by design: one adult can sit on the edge of the kitchen without unbalancing the trailer. Most importantly every car has, besides the towing limit, has a limit for the vertical load on the hitch. Do not confused this with the hitch device capability which is much higher in general. The limit has to do with the car chases and rear axel construction. For example my Tiguan has a vertical load max of 200 lbs. As you may already know due to excellent balance you can lift the trailer by hand. So you don't want to add more vertical load on the hitch with the bikes in the front. And also very important is the height of the hitch ball from the ground: make sure when attached the trailer sits as horizontal as possible. If I remember correctly about 19" for the ball height. The actual clamps at the end of the rubber strip are under the fixed one you see in the picture.

Drove at 120 and no vibration what so ever. The trick is correct installation: there are two sets of clamps - the one attached to the rubber strip is the one should hold on the mirror frame NOT the external fixed one. They are so helpful that I miss them when taking them off, he, he

I asked Steve the same question and his answer was "rubberized pain" I guess he referred to that rubber spray white or black you can get at Home Depot and Walmart.

I guess all depends on what and how you plan to use it. For example the battery will last you a few days late in fall using a little heater when going to bed. You plan long trips off the grid and must have 110V for whatever appliances than you need the converter and solar panels. Talk to Steve and trust him; he will ask you the same and will not suggest you to buy stuff you don't need. We for example have a camping folding table so we didn't opt for the table. But I bought the spare full size wheel just because I've seen plenty of tailers - not this type - with flat tires. I choose the large size tires because is a better choice overall. Didn't choose the water system with sink and pump. We use the blue 5 gal. reservoir and just flip it when needed. Again depends on how much outdoor person you are or prepared to be. Hi Marc, our trailer 5x8 is very stable driving 100-120 km/h even with high winds. This is because of the shape and large wheels and wheel base. We do have the spare wheel installed under by Steve (shop). Our car limits the vertical weight on the hitch to 220kg ( not the towing weight) so personally I would prefer the extra load on the back. I'm sure Steve has an option for a hitch on the back. If you will install it (after market) I suggest look for a way that the receiver will not stick out too much to hurt you when working in the kitchen. Take care. Iulian

Ferris Provincial Park is about 2 hours driving from Toronto on Trent Canal and river. Although no beach or swimming area. Has a variety of sites but check the pictures on Ontario Parks before booking as some sites are difficult or not accessible with the trailer: narrow access or step slope or a ridge on the side of the road. Washrooms are not to many and for many sites quite far. Nice hiking trails and a small town in walking distance with some restaurants. Visited October 9 - 10 2020.

For one week off the grid just be careful with the battery capacity versus fridge consumption. Unless you have a generator I will not take the risk to discharge the car battery with the fridge. Steven has examples of calculations on the blog. But maybe I'm too cautious. We used Lipton soup (in small envelops) that comes out OK if you respect the receipt. and added a spoon of pasta. Then frozen food as much as you can like John V. Helps to keep the cooler cold longer. Attention if you use the butane stove - won't work much under 10 deg. C and may not work at all under 5 deg. C. Propane works in cold.

Made a drawer for cutlery.

Changed the light bulbs to LED. No issues with polarity. Same soft light and power for less amps.

Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park. We were blessed with full display of fall colours all the way from North of Barrie to the park. Amazing! The stay was September 24 to 27. The park is small and some of the sites will be very difficult for trailer or not good at all. To our opinion avoid the electrical sites as they don't have privacy, the ground is moist and affected by the big trailers and RV. We recommend one of the following sites: 2,4,4,6,7,8,42, 46,48(in picture)50,52,102,106,110,115. There is a small beach clean and with clear water. Washrooms are clean, with flush but basic. No showers. About 45 min driving North is Grundy park with beautiful trails to walk and free access with your ticket from Sturgeon park. This time we met another 2 trailer from Steve in the same time and park and of course we got together, showed our toys and exchange opinions and ideas. Nice community we have around these trailers! This time we put on the screen tent and helped a lot.The blue tall tent acts like change room or washroom.

Rideau Provincial Park was our first trip with the new Diamond in the rough we are calling "the Ladybug". Will try from here on to post a few comments on the parks that may help others. Rideau is large and conveniently close to Ottawa if you want to visit the city. The trailer will fit in almost if not any site. The sites are large and most of them offer privacy/ trees or bushes between sites. Nice washrooms also. Not a park for hiking. We installed extended side mirrors from Amazon and I found them very useful. In the picture below is actually 1/3 of the site booked for trailer 18' and under. And as everywhere the trailer got a lot of attention from fellow campers that stoped by and asked about it. Good job Steve and Co.

A rubber band or elastic across the stove holds down the parts on a bumpy road.

The little black foam glued to the side of the box prevents the door smashing on the box. Also added a little elastic (removable) to hold the door open in a windy day
