Hi Folks, It is a good time to start planning, if there is interest in such a gathering. Places like Sandbanks fill up very early, and would likely be impossible when the kids are out of school. Lots of other possibilities, but chances are still best when the kids are in school.
This could be a great opportunity for like minded people to gather and trade stories of trips, modifications and dreams for the future.
I don't have room to host a gathering, but i could host a couple of teardrops at my place 20 minutes north of Ottawa. Not the location in the attached photo.
Hi Rick, Will you be publishing a list of events?
We are already members of the Tearjrrkers.net group here in Ontario and have attended several outings with them. As a group we have about 20 people and have planned 3 camp outs this year and you are welcome to join us. Let me know if you have any questions
Every summer, usually the third Saturday of August, we hold a Hoedown (fall party) on my hobby farm with about 60 neighbours and friends attending. We have a band on a hay wagon, snacks, a bonfire, and a pot-a-potty. We’re north of Barrie Ontario in Tiny Township. I have room for as many Teardrops as need be. Georgian Bay is a short walk down the hill for swimming during the day and local attractions are close at hand. Love to host fellow travelers and exchange Teardrop ideas and stories.
Hi Jeanette. The awning in the photo is made by Thule and info is available online.
They don't mention that it comes without mounting hardware, and that the hardware kit is designed to work with their roof racks. Extra$
The rack itself including taxes came up to %1,000. A good product and I was able to mount it without buying the extras.
Shortly after buying it, Princess Auto had one on sale for $138 👀. The size was 1ft less in each direction which is still adequate.
There is a zippered plastic bag covering it instead of the aluminum case on the Thule.
Mounting hardware is included
Both awnings must be extended completely it seems, and as you know, there isn't always room.
I purchased one of these from Princess Auto and may mount it on my SUV, when I get around to it.
Note, in the photo I have added drip caps over the doors. These are anodized aluminum drawer pulls from Ikea. Good deal at $15 pair.
Hope this helps
Love your awning, Jim. Is it a permanent fixture? Source?
